TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - As the Thailand Vegetarian Festival started on Monday, October 20, digital travel platform Agoda released a list of must-visit vegan-friendly destinations in Asia. These cities offer authentic plant-based culinary experiences, from bustling night markets to rich traditional dishes, suitable for vegetarian and vegan travelers.
According to the World Animal Foundation, approximately 1.5 billion people, or almost 20 percent of the world's population, are vegetarians. Asia, with its culinary heritage focusing on fresh ingredients and spices, is a magnet for them.
As reported by Bangkok Post, here are some of Agoda's top destinations for meat-free culinary adventures, each with its own unique charm.
1. Phuket, Thailand
Phuket, Thailand, takes center stage during the Thailand Jay Food Festival, which runs until October 29. The festival treats visitors to authentic Thai vegetarian cuisine made with tofu, mushrooms, and fresh vegetables. This is an experience not to be missed.

3. Rishikesh, India
