BMKG Forecasts Varied Weather in Greater Jakarta, Uneven Rain Expected

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) has predicted rainfall in some parts of Greater Jakarta today, Friday, February 27, 2026. The rainfall may vary from light to heavy, accompanied by thunderstorms.

Light rain is expected throughout the day in areas such as South Jakarta, East Jakarta, Bogor City, and South Tangerang City. Meanwhile, the prediction for rain accompanied by thunderstorms is in Tangerang Regency and City, as well as the Thousand Islands. For the rest of the areas, according to BMKG, it will be cloudy throughout the day.

Today, BMKG's early warning for rain has set Jakarta and its surrounding areas on alert status. This means that there is a potential for moderate to heavy rainfall. The early warning also applies to strong winds.

These conditions are predicted to persist for the next week. BMKG stated this in the Weekly Weather Progress from February 27 to March 5. Meanwhile, West Java and Banten are also on alert by BMKG for the potential of heavy to very heavy rainfall until March 1.
