TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Cloudy weather interspersed with drizzle as has been occurring since morning is expected to persist throughout today, Sunday, January 11, 2026, in Jabodetabek (Greater Jakarta) area, Indonesia. Some areas may even experience higher intensity rain accompanied by thunder.
As quoted from the Indonesian Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG)'s website, all areas in Jakarta are uniformly affected by the potential of light rain today, including both mainland and the Thousand Islands.
Meanwhile, in the vicinity of Jakarta, BMKG predicts moderate intensity rain (20-50 mm per day) covering the areas of Bogor Regency, Depok City, and Bekasi City throughout this Sunday. Only Bekasi Regency is expected to be predominantly cloudy today.
Higher intensity rain than in Jakarta is also forecasted in Tangerang Regency and City, as well as South Tangerang City today. Specifically, South Tangerang also has the potential for rain accompanied by thunder.
From this weather, it is highly likely to develop into heavy rain. BMKG has issued an early warning for heavy-to-very heavy rain today for the areas of East Jakarta, South Jakarta, Bogor Regency, and Bekasi Regency.
Meanwhile, early warnings for strong winds have been issued for the areas of Tangerang City, South Tangerang City, Tangerang Regency, North Jakarta, Central Jakarta, West Jakarta, East Jakarta, South Jakarta, and the Thousand Islands.
