Carlos Espi Scores Late as Real Madrid Beat Elche 3-2

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - A goal from Carlos Espi helped Real Madrid defeat Elche 3-2 in Matchweek 6 of the Spanish League at the Manuel Martinez Valero Stadium in Elx on Tuesday night (local time).

In addition to Espi's contribution, Real Madrid secured the win thanks to a goal from Kylian Mbappé and an own goal by Matías Dituro, while Elche briefly leveled the match through Abiel Osorio and Fer Niño, according to La Liga records as cited by Antara.

The victory leaves Real Madrid with 15 points from six matches, sitting second in the Spanish League standings—level on points with Barcelona, who hold first place.

Conversely, the defeat leaves Elche rooted to the bottom of the table with two points from six games, two points adrift of safety.

Elche created the first chance through a shot by Tete Morente, but it went narrowly wide of the Madrid goal.

Madrid responded with a threat via a header from Dean Huijsen following a corner kick, but the attempt was thwarted by Elche goalkeeper Matías Dituro.

Elche created another opportunity when a pass from Germán Valera was met by a shot from Abiel Osorio, but the ball sailed just over the crossbar.

Vinicius Junior had a chance to put Madrid ahead with a shot from the edge of the Elche penalty area, but the ball went wide of the goal.

In the 25th minute, Matías Dituro failed to secure the ball, resulting in an own goal that gave *Los Blancos* a 1-0 lead.

Madrid doubled their advantage to 2-0 in the 33rd minute after a pass from Yan Diomande was converted into a goal by Kylian Mbappé.

Elche threatened a few times during the remainder of the first half, but the 2-0 lead for Madrid held firm until the break.

At the start of the second half, Elche once again took the attacking initiative and threatened through a shot by Abiel Osorio, which was blocked by the Madrid defense. Elche managed to narrow the deficit to 1–2 in the 71st minute when Abiel Osorio converted a pass from Lucas Cepeda into a goal.

The home side equalized in the 83rd minute as Fer Nino found the net against Madrid, capitalizing on a pass from Josan to make the score 2–2.

Entering stoppage time, Madrid regained the lead and sealed the victory with a goal from Carlos Espi—assisted by Mbappé—making it 3–2 in the 91st minute.
