KPK Claims to Recover State Losses 50 Percent in 3 Years

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) claimed to have returned state losses from the investigation into corruption cases amounting to 50 percent of the total budget. KPK spokesperson Budi Prasetyo stated that the recovery took place over the last three years.

"So, the outcome of the law enforcement process is not only to provide a deterrent effect on the perpetrators but also to make an optimal contribution through asset recovery," said Budi at the KPK Red and White Building, South Jakarta, on Monday, July 14, 2025.

He said that the return is also an effort by KPK to contribute to the Non-Tax State Revenue or PNBP. Budi mentioned that the recovery of state assets from corruption proceeds is also returned to the state. "Of course, that is a very positive note for a law enforcement agency," he said.

KPK Chairperson Setyo Budiyanto said that the institution has handed over corruption assets valued at Rp50.27 billion as of June 30, 2025. Setyo stated that this step is part of the asset recovery in handling corruption cases.

Setyo explained that the handover of the seized goods was carried out through the mechanism of determining the usage status (PSP) by ministries, institutions, and regional governments. In addition, KPK has also deposited PNBP into the state treasury totaling Rp402.61 billion as of June 30, 2025.

Setyo stated that the amount reached 250.9 percent of the set target, which is Rp160.45 billion. "Consisting of PNBP for case handling, PNBP for receiving gratuities, and general PNBP," said Setyo during a working meeting with the House of Representatives Commission III at the Parliament Complex on Thursday, July 10, 2025.

From the case handling sector, Setyo said that KPK had deposited PNBP totaling Rp394.26 billion. Meanwhile, the gratuity receipts amounted to Rp1.59 billion, and the general PNBP stood at Rp6.75 billion.
