TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Chelsea has successfully clinched the title of the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup. The English club defeated Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) with a convincing score of 3-0 at the MetLife Stadium, New Jersey, in the early hours of Monday WIB, 14 July.

Chelsea's victory was secured by two goals from Cole Palmer and one goal from Joao Pedro, all of which were scored in the first half. This success makes Chelsea the second English club to achieve two championship titles in the last decade, after previously winning the same trophy in 2021.

In 2022, Real Madrid claimed their fifth title after defeating Al-Hilal 5-3.
In 2023, Manchester City brought home their first trophy for the club with a 4-0 victory over Fluminense.
Chelsea made history once again with their second title in the 2025 edition.

Real Madrid, as quoted from ESPN, remains the most successful club in the history of the FIFA Club World Cup, both overall and in the last decade. Los Blancos have clinched five championship titles in this period, namely in 2014, 2016, 2017, 2018, and 2022.

Next FIFA Club World Cup Schedule

After the special 2025 edition using the new format with 32 participating teams, FIFA has decided to change the tournament schedule to once every four years, instead of annually as before. The inaugural edition in the new format has been completed in the United States from June 14 to July 13, 2025, with Chelsea emerging as the champion.

The next tournament is planned to take place in 2029. The host has not yet been determined and will be decided through a bidding process. The 32-team format is likely to be used, although there are rumors of an increase in the number of participating teams.
