Pelita Air Launches New Flight Route to Lombok

TEMPO.CO, Mataram - The island of Lombok offers a variety of natural, cultural, and culinary attractions. For travelers who seek to explore the beauty of Lombok, airlines are serving flight options to the island, one of which is Pelita Air.

As the airline's 14th route, the Lombok-bound flight departs from Jakarta at 6:20 a.m. local time. The Governor of West Nusa Tenggara (NTB), Lalu Muhammad Iqbal, hoped the flight route would contribute to the local economy and improve tourist visits to the island of Lombok.

"This new route is ready to take tourists to explore the beauty of the enchanting island of Lombok, from its beautiful beaches and culture to its addictive culinary delights," he said in a press release on Monday, May 27, 2025.

According to Iqbal, the simple yet classy and environmentally friendly aircraft makes Pelita Air the top choice for tourists who want to enjoy the beauty of the Lombok Island.

The presence of Pelita Air is expected to boost tourist visits to the NTB Province and support the future development of the Mandalika Special Economic Zone (SEZ). "NTB has the Mandalika Circuit, so flight connectivity is crucial to support the region's development, and Lombok should be a destination that provides all the conveniences for tourists," Iqbal said.

Pelita Air Commissioner Suprasetyo added that Pelita Air also focuses on new routes in the eastern regions of Indonesia that may not be served by other airlines. Currently, Pelita Air has 14 units of aircraft of the Narrow Body type, commercial aircraft with single aisles. The Airbus A320 aircraft is parked at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport, as well as Surabaya and Balikpapan.

There are two aircraft that offer medium economy services, providing various facilities and comfort for passengers. The facilities include free snacks and drinks, free baggage up to 20 kilograms, in-flight entertainment, seat selection, and priority check-in.

"Pelita Air has clean aircraft, especially the engines; during take-off, the noise is low, like US-maintained aircraft," Suprasetyo said.
