TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Corruption Eradication Task Force (Kortastipidkor) of the Indonesian National Police (Polri) has denied the allegations that the handling of the case of the former Deputy Attorney General for Special Crimes (Jampidsus) Febrie Adriansyah is a form of criminalization. Previously, Febrie's legal representative, Hotman Paris Hutapea, claimed that his client had become a victim of criminalization.
"Oh, there isn't," said the Head of the Operations Section of Kortastipidkor Polri, Commissioner Ahmad Yusuf Afandi to journalists at the Bareskrim Polri building on Monday, July 20, 2026.
The journalists then mentioned that the police had previously handled the investigation and investigation of the case before transferring it. They asked for an explanation regarding the status of the case after Hotman accused the legal process against Febrie as a form of criminalization.
However, Yusuf emphasized that the case is now fully in the hands of the Attorney General's Office (AGO) investigators. He refused to further explain the substance of the case and asked journalists to confirm it with the attorney general as the authority now handling the case.
"Further investigation, what is the substance, please ask the Attorney General," he said.
Previously, Hotman stated that the police did not seek permission from President Prabowo Subianto when designating Febrie as a suspect.
"Imagine the pride of the president suddenly being criminalized even without bidding farewell to the president," said Hotman on Friday, July 18, 2026.
Hotman questioned the designation of suspect status on Febrie. According to him, the process violated the Indonesian Code of Criminal Procedure (KUHAP) because the investigators did not first summon and examine Febrie before designating him as a suspect. He also denied all accusations that became the basis for designating his client as a suspect.
According to Hotman, during his tenure as Jampidsus and Chair of the Task Force for Forest Area Enforcement (Satgas PKH), Febrie made a significant contribution to state revenue. He claimed that the Satgas PKH led by Febrie successfully deposited Rp300 trillion to the state treasury in one year through law enforcement.
Hotman also claimed that the Satgas PKH successfully recovered state losses amounting to Rp130 trillion. "Already Rp430 trillion returned, proud achievement by the president," he said.
Febrie Adriansyah served as the Chair of the Satgas PKH because the position was attached to his role as Jampidsus, as regulated in Presidential Regulation Number 5 of 2025.
