Seven Indonesian SOE Logistics Firms Officially Merge into One Entity

6 hours ago 1

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta Seven Indonesian State-Owned Enterprises (SOEs) in the logistics sector officially merged into one entity through the signing of a Shareholder Agreement (SHA) and a Deed of Consolidation Merger in Jakarta on Tuesday.

As ANTARA reported, Chair of the Steering Committee for the SOE Logistics Consolidation PMO, Daud Joseph, said that PT Multi Terminal Indonesia, as the surviving entity, will serve as a platform for the seven companies during the transition period.

The seven logistics companies are Pelindo Sinergi Lokaseva Multiterminal Indonesia, Pelindo Sinergi Lokaseva Prima Indonesia Logistik, Pos Logistics, Pelni Logistics, PT Kawasan Berikat Nusantara (KBN), PT Varia Usaha Dharma Segara (VUDS), and Krakatau Integrated Logistics.

"So, it's called a surviving entity, or one entity that survives. So, the surviving entity that will survive is PT Multiterminal Indonesia," said Daud.

During the transition period, the companies involved in the merger will undergo an integration process involving operational, legal, financial, and governance aspects before entering the final transaction stage.

Furthermore, Daud said the merger of seven SOEs in the logistics sector was the first step in national logistics consolidation by Danantara Asset Management to build a more efficient and integrated logistics ecosystem in Indonesia.

"This aligns with the government's vision and mission to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of logistics processes in this country. From the SOE's perspective, Danantara wants these seven companies to merge, and this has begun today," said Daud.

Daud Joseph, the president director of PT Pos Indonesia, hopes the merger of these seven companies will benefit the national logistics sector and allow it to develop more efficiently.

"The benefit we all hope for as a nation is that a consolidated logistics company can have all the necessary features, allowing a single entity to carry out various logistics functions," said Daud.

"That's where efficiency will come in, with more efficient pricing, because there are no longer multiple companies," he added.
