Hiking is only permitted through official routes to safeguard hikers and enable efficient evacuation in emergencies. Based on a report from Antara on March 31, 2023, here are six official hiking routes on Mount Rinjani:

1. Senaru Route

The Senaru Route is one of the most popular official entry points and is commonly used as a descent path from the summit of Mount Rinjani. Many hikers also choose to begin their ascent from this route, as it offers scenic views of dense tropical forests and a cool climate.

The tranquil atmosphere and lush surroundings make it ideal for those seeking a peaceful hiking experience.

2. Tete Batu Route

3. Timbanuh Route

4. Sembalun Route

The Sembalun Route is among the most favored trails to Mount Rinjani’s summit. Hikers traverse wide savanna fields before reaching Pelawangan Sembalun, then Danau Segara Anak, and finally the summit.

5. Torean Route

7. Aik Berik Route
