TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Novak Djokovic secured his 100th career win at Wimbledon on Sunday, July 6, 2025, after defeating fellow Serbian Miomir Kecmanovic 6-3, 6-0, 6-4. The victory sent Djokovic to the fourth round of the grass-court Grand Slam for the 17th time.
Displaying dominance throughout the match, Djokovic controlled the rallies from the baseline and wrapped up the win in just one hour and 47 minutes. “I am very grateful, feel honored to be in my current position,” he told ATP when asked about reaching the milestone.
Now 38 years old, Djokovic emphasized how much tennis has shaped his life. “I have said it many times,” he noted, reflecting on his long career and dedication to the sport.
Despite his age, Djokovic remains competitive against younger players, even executing his trademark slides and splits on court. “I try not to underestimate anything, especially at this age,” he added.
The win improved his head-to-head record against 25-year-old Kecmanovic to 4-0. With the victory, Djokovic joins Roger Federer as the only players to notch 100 wins at Wimbledon.
Federer, who holds the record with 105 victories, is also the only player to have reached the fourth round more often, doing so 18 times compared to Djokovic’s 17.
Djokovic said Wimbledon has always been his favorite tournament. “It’s a dream event, not just for me but probably for most players. As kids, many of us dream of playing and winning here. I feel lucky to have done that multiple times. Every bit of history I create here makes me feel fortunate,” he said.
He is set to face Alex de Minaur in the round of 16 on Monday, July 7.
With a 24-8 record this season, Djokovic is eyeing his 25th Grand Slam title. A win at Wimbledon would also match Federer’s record of eight championships at the All England Club.
After dropping a set in his opening match against Alexandre Muller, Djokovic bounced back by eliminating Daniel Evans and cruising past Kecmanovic.
Commenting on his match against Kecmanovic, Djokovic said it was challenging to compete against a friend.
“Miomir is a great guy. I’ve known him for years, and we’ve faced each other on various surfaces. More than just rivals, we’re friends and teammates,” he said.
Djokovic has now moved up to fifth place in the ATP Live Race to Turin. If he advances to the quarterfinals, he will climb to fourth, overtaking Jack Draper.
