TEMPO.CO, Jakarta A cup of coffee at Roasters Specialty Coffee House in Dubai has been acknowledged by Guinness World Records as the most expensive coffee in the world. The coffee was sold for AED 2,500 or around Rp11.3 million on September 13, 2025, at its main store in Boulevard Downtown Dubai.

As reported on the official Guinness World Records website, the coffee is a V60 filter coffee brewed by hand using one of the rarest and most exclusive coffee beans in the world, Hacienda La Esmeralda from Panama, specifically the Geisha variety. The coffee is an award-winning variety known for its exceptional flavor profile, limited availability, and premium price.

The Geisha variety originates from the Hacienda La Esmeralda plantation in Panama. This variety comes from Ethiopia but is now grown in the volcanic soil of the Boquete Valley at elevations of 1,200 to 1,800 meters.

These coffee beans are renowned for their unique flavor, featuring jasmine, honeysuckle, and bergamot aromas, and a touch of sweet fruit.

This coffee is served with tiramisu, chocolate ice cream, and special pieces of chocolate, all infused with the same Geisha coffee beans.

Enjoying this most expensive coffee is a multi-sensory experience. A dedicated barista prepares the coffee at the table using a kettle with controlled temperature and a V60 dripper. The coffee is then served in a handmade Edo Kiriko crystal glass from Japan, known for its beautiful patterns. To help guests enjoy this experience, a set of flavor note cards is also provided. The entire presentation is designed to celebrate not only the rare coffee beans but also the precision and service involved.

According to Gulf News, Konstantin Harbuz, one of the founders and CEO of Roasters, said that this award celebrates the team's dedication and reflects Dubai's growing reputation as a destination for coffee experiences.

The brand, which originates from Dubai and now has 11 branches throughout the United Arab Emirates, is known among coffee enthusiasts for its focus on high-quality coffee beans and expert brewing techniques.
