2026 World Cup Qualifiers: Asia Zone Fourth Round Schedule and Pot Breakdown

1 day ago 9

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesia is set to compete in the fourth round of the 2026 FIFA World Cup Asian qualifiers in October 2025. The allocation of teams into pots for the draw will be determined by the FIFA rankings as of July 10, 2025.

So far, six nations have advanced to this stage: Indonesia, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Oman, Qatar, and Iraq. In the third-round Group C standings, Indonesia finished fourth, while Saudi Arabia secured third place.

The draw for the fourth round will take place on July 17, 2025, in Osaka, Japan. Pot placements for the draw will be based on the most recent FIFA rankings.

"They will be split into two groups of three from October 2025, with the winners of these groups qualifying for the finals," stated FIFA on its official website.

Based on the FIFA rankings released on April 3, 2025, Qatar (ranked 55th with 1,456.58 points) and Saudi Arabia (ranked 58th with 1,418.96 points) are likely to be in pot 1 as the top-ranked teams.

Pot 2 is expected to feature Iraq (ranked 59th, 1,413.40 points) and the UAE (ranked 65th, 1,382.70 points), while pot 3 will include Oman (ranked 77th, 1,323.91 points) and Indonesia (ranked 123rd, 1,142.92 points).

However, these positions are subject to change with the upcoming FIFA ranking update on July 10, which may impact the final pot allocations.

The fifth round of qualifiers will see the two runners-up from each group face off in a two-legged playoff. The winner will then move on to the intercontinental playoff round.

Projected Pot Allocation – Fourth Round of 2026 World Cup Asian Qualifiers

Pot 1
– Saudi Arabia
– Qatar

Pot 2
– Iraq
– United Arab Emirates

Pot 3
