TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Indonesian government has announced the resignation of Bank Indonesia Governor Perry Warjiyo. This was conveyed by State Secretary Minister Prasetyo Hadi at the Bank Indonesia building on Monday, July 27, 2026.
Prasetyo stated that President Prabowo Subianto has accepted the resignation letter of Perry Warjiyo. Subsequently, the government will process the resignation with respect and follow up in accordance with the mechanisms regulated in the Bank Indonesia Law.
"Yesterday, we officially received the resignation letter from the Bank Indonesia Governor to the president," said Prasetyo.
Prasetyo explained that President Prabowo has accepted Perry Warjiyo's resignation with gratitude and appreciation for his dedication in leading Bank Indonesia for approximately seven years. Administratively, the government will process the issuance of the president's decision regarding Perry's respectful dismissal as the Governor of Bank Indonesia.
According to the provisions of the Bank Indonesia Law, he said, the position of Bank Indonesia Governor will be temporarily held by the Senior Deputy Governor, Destry Damayanti. As the temporary acting governor, Destry will carry out all the duties and authorities of the governor until the definitive appointment mechanism is carried out in accordance with the regulations.
