TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Indonesian national team climbed four spots to 118th in the latest FIFA rankings thanks to their 3-0 win over Oman and 1-0 against Mozambique in this month's FIFA Matchday series.
According to the live rankings on the official FIFA website, Wednesday at 3:00 p.m. local time, Indonesia is ranked 118th in the world with 1,157.14 points, a boost of 12.25 points thanks to a recent victory run.
Indonesia clinched 6.56 points after their win against Oman—the world's 79th football team—and later earned an additional 5.69 points against 101st-ranked Mozambique.
Playing at the Gelora Bung Karno Main Stadium (SUGBK) last Friday, June 5, Indonesia's victory over Oman came courtesy of goals from Justin Hubner, Ole Romeny, and Ragnar Oratmangoen.
Following that match, Indonesia completed its winning run in this month's tournament by defeating Mozambique 1-0 on Tuesday, thanks to Romeny's solitary goal.
This positive result concluded John Herdman's four-match run with the Garuda team in three months, which ended with three wins and one loss, with three clean sheets.
In these four matches, Indonesia scored eight goals and conceded only one, the only goal coming in the 0-1 penalty shootout victory against Bulgaria.
In a press conference following the victory against Mozambique at the GBK Sports Complex on Tuesday, Herdman hoped his players could maintain this positive momentum in the next tournament.
It is known that after this, Indonesia will play in a non-FIFA tournament, the 2026 ASEAN Hyundai Cup or the 2026 AFF Cup, starting in late July.
Following this prestigious Southeast Asian football tournament, Indonesia will return to international competition in September.
