TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Jakarta Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) has reported that flooding persists across several sectors of the capital following intense rainfall over the city and its surrounding satellite areas. As of Monday, January 12, 2026, at 12:00 p.m. WIB, data indicates that 28 neighborhood units (RT) and 44 road sections have been inundated.
Mohamad Yohan, Head of the Jakarta BPBD Data and Information Center, confirmed that the standing water is distributed across West, South, East, and North Jakarta. "Heavy rainfall throughout the Jakarta area and its surroundings has triggered several pools of inundation within the city limits," Yohan stated in an official release on Monday afternoon.
In response, the BPBD has mobilized field personnel to monitor water levels and coordinate mitigation efforts with the Water Resources Agency, the Bina Marga Road Agency, and the Fire and Rescue Agency. "Our officers are draining the affected areas and ensuring that drainage infrastructure is functioning optimally, working alongside local sub-district and district heads," Yohan added.
The impact is currently spread across four administrative cities. In West Jakarta, flooding has hit six RT: three in Kedaung Kali Angke with water levels reaching 70 centimeters, and three in Rawa Buaya, where depths have hit 50 centimeters.
South Jakarta remains the most heavily affected region, with 19 RT submerged. Inundation levels here vary significantly, including 40 centimeters in one RT in Cilandak Barat, 80 centimeters across two RT in Pondok Labu, and approximately 70 centimeters in three RT in Cipete Utara.
The flooding in South Jakarta also extends to Pela Mampang, where nine RT are under 50 centimeters of water, one RT in Duren Tiga at 40 centimeters, and three RT in Cilandak Timur, which recorded the highest levels at 95 centimeters.
Meanwhile, East Jakarta recorded one submerged RT in Rawa Terate Village with water levels at 40 centimeters. In North Jakarta, two RT in Tanjung Priok Village are experiencing shallower inundation of approximately 20 centimeters.
