TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesia's Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) investigators stated that they have the authority to conduct supervision over three corruption cases involving Febrie Adriansyah. In these cases, the Indonesian Police's Corruption Eradication Task Force (Kortastipidkor Polri) has named Febrie, who previously served as the Deputy Attorney General for Special Crimes of the Attorney General's Office, as a suspect and then transferred the case to the Attorney General's Office.
KPK spokesperson Budi Prasetyo stated that their authority to conduct this supervision is regulated in Law Number 19 of 2019 concerning the KPK. "Indeed, we have the task of coordinating and supervising agencies responsible for combating corruption," said Budi at the KPK building in South Jakarta on Monday, July 13, 2026.
Budi mentioned that the KPK frequently coordinates and supervises in several corruption handling processes, both at the central and regional levels. This coordination and supervision, according to Budi, is carried out by the KPK for law enforcement agencies facing obstacles or requiring KPK's assistance.
"For example, to bring in experts to provide various views and analyses during the investigation process," he said.
Budi stated that there is a possibility that the KPK will coordinate and supervise with the Attorney General's Office in handling the three corruption cases involving Febrie Adriansyah. Budi stated that the institution continues to monitor the handling of these cases.
"We also continue to follow the process, and because the investigation is still in its early stages, the transfer from the police to the Attorney General's Office was just last Saturday," said Budi.
Previously, the Head of the Indonesian Police's Corruption Eradication Task Force, Inspector General Totok Suharyanto, stated that they had transferred three alleged corruption cases involving Febrie Adriansyah to the Attorney General's Office. The transfer of documents included the transfer of two suspects, Febrie and a private individual named Don Ritto. "In the spirit of synergy," said Totok in a press conference at the Attorney General's Office building in South Jakarta on Saturday, July 11, 2026.
Although he has been named a suspect, Febrie Adriansyah has not been detained. Meanwhile, Don Ritto has been in custody at the Jakarta Metropolitan Police detention center since yesterday.
The three cases allegedly involving Febrie Adriansyah are the corruption of PT Asabri, PT Krakatau Steel, and the corruption of coal supply that caused blackouts or power outages in Sumatra.
Acting Head of the Attorney General's Office's Special Crimes Unit (Jampidsus), Rudi Margono, stated that they had received the transfer of these cases. "Formally, we will accept the transfer of handling these three cases, as a commitment to expedite the professional handling of the cases," he said at the same forum.
Rudi said that despite the transfer of these three cases to the Jampidsus, they would still coordinate with the police.
