TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Prince Saudi Arabia's Al-Waleed bin Khaled bin Talal Al Saud, known as the 'Sleeping Prince', has passed away at the age of 36, after being in a coma for 20 years.
Prince Al-Waleed bin Khaled bin Talal Al Saud slipped into a coma following a car accident in 2005 while studying at a military college in London. Born in April 1990, Prince Al-Waleed - affectionately called Dede by his family - was 15 years old at the time.
On Saturday, the prince's father, Prince Khaled bin Talal Al Saud - a prominent Saudi nobleman and the nephew of billionaire Prince Al Waleed bin Talal - announced that his son had passed away at a medical facility in Saudi Arabia.
2. Halim Perdanakusuma Airport to Relocate 50% of Flights to Soekarno-Hatta Starting August 1
Soekarno-Hatta Airport has declared its readiness to accommodate approximately 50 percent of flights currently operating from Halim Perdanakusuma Airport, with the relocation set to begin on August 1, 2025.
"We are very ready as the preparations are complete," stated Dwi Ananda Wicaksana, General Manager of PT Angkasa Pura Indonesia's Soekarno-Hatta International Airport Branch Office, on Thursday, July 17, 2025.
Dwi explained that the airlines slated for relocation have been carefully selected to ensure no overlap with existing routes at Soekarno-Hatta. "There will definitely be adjustments," he confirmed.
3. Hamas: Israel Rejects Deal to Release All Prisoners in Gaza
TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Brigade Al Qassam, the armed wing of Hamas, on Friday stated that Hamas had proposed a comprehensive deal to release all Israeli prisoners held in Gaza. The deal, as reported by Al Jazeera, was in exchange for halting the conflict and a complete withdrawal of Israeli forces from the coastal enclave.
In a 20-minute televised address, Abu Obeida, the spokesperson for the al-Qassam Brigade, said the movement had proposed the offer several times over the past few months. "However, the Israeli government rejected the proposal," he said.
"It has become clear to us that the government of the criminal Netanyahu has no real interest in the captives because they are soldiers," Obeida said.
