TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Actor Tom Cruise and singer Jennifer Hudson are reportedly to be performing in a special show to celebrate the 2026 FIFA World Cup final at New York New Jersey Stadium, United States, on July 19.
According to a report by the Hollywood Reporter on Tuesday, July 14, citing ANTARA, Tom Cruise's presence is part of the latest entertainment series for the world's biggest sporting event, and Jennifer Hudson will perform the United States national anthem.
FIFA also announced that the 2026 World Cup closing ceremony held before the match will feature performances by Laura Pausini, Nicole Scherzinger, Robbie Williams, and YouTube content creator IShowSpeed.
Additionally, FIFA stated that stadium spectators will have an active role in the spectacle. Therefore, fans are encouraged to arrive early to participate in the events.
“Echoing the spirit of the opening ceremonies, which welcomed the world to the greatest stage in Canada, Mexico and the United States, the closing ceremony will bring the FIFA World Cup 2026 full circle through music, culture and football, before we kick off the highly anticipated match that will crown the champions of this groundbreaking tournament,” said Heimo Schirgi, Chief Operating Officer (COO) of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The 2026 World Cup final is being prepared on a scale comparable to the Super Bowl or the Olympics, with numerous musical performances and celebrity appearances.
Previously, FIFA also announced that the halftime show for the 2026 World Cup final would feature performances by stars Madonna, Shakira, BTS, and Justin Bieber. Additionally, Burna Boy, Gustavo Dudamel, and the PS22 Chorus will perform with Coldplay during the 11-minute show.
FIFA and Global Citizen will host the first halftime show in World Cup Final history on July 19 at New York's New Jersey Stadium, combining football, music and social action on one stage.
The halftime show was held to support the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund, which aims to raise US$100 million to expand access to education and football for children worldwide. This fundraising effort includes a US$1 donation for every 2026 World Cup ticket sold.
