Garut Police Name Obstetrician Accused of Harassing Patient as Suspect

TEMPO.CO, Garut - Garut Resort Police, West Java, have designated obstetrician with the initials WSF, 33 years old, as a suspect for sexual violence. However, the designation of the suspect is not related to the recent viral video that has garnered public attention on social media.

The head of Garut Resort Police Mochamad Fajar Gemilang stated that the designation of WSF as a suspect is based on a report from a victim on April 15, 2025. The alleged sexual violence incident took place at the perpetrator's boarding house.

"So there was only one report on April 15, yesterday. Another person is not willing to make a report," said Fajar on Thursday, April 17, 2025.

Fajar stated that the identity of the victim in the viral video has been identified. CCTV footage confirmed that the incident took place at the Karsa Harsa Clinic. However, the victim has not filed a report yet, as she is still discussing the matter with her husband and family.

"We respect her decision. Personal matters have now entered the public sphere," he said.

Regarding the reported case, Fajar said it occurred on March 24, 2025. It started when the victim, AED, 24 years old, consulted at the Karsa Harsa clinic on March 22, 2025. At that time, the victim complained of a vaginal discharge.

The suspect agreed to treat the victim outside of practice hours, stating that they would administer a gonorrhea vaccine at the victim's house.

On March 24, 2025, at approximately 07:00 PM WIB (Western Indonesia Time), the suspect went to the victim’s home as previously agreed. It was during this visit that the suspect allegedly attempted to sexually assault the victim.

"The victim fought back by kicking the suspect, which eventually forced him to leave the room," Fajar explained.

Following the incident, MSF has been charged under Article 6, letters b and/or c of Law Number 12 of 2022 on the Crime of Sexual Violence. The charges carry a maximum sentence of 12 years in prison and/or a fine of up to Rp300 million.

"We encourage other victims to come forward to support the ongoing investigation," Fajar added.
