TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesian Minister of Finance Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa reported that state revenue reached Rp1,459.4 trillion during the first half of 2026, accounting for 46.3 percent of the Rp3,153.6 trillion target. Tax collection in the first half of this year reached 44.1 percent of the target outlined in the State Revenue and Expenditure Budget (APBN).

State revenue realization in the first half of 2026 marked an increase compared to the same period last year. "State revenues grew by 21.4 percent year-on-year compared to the same period in 2025," Purbaya said during a meeting with the House of Representatives’ Budget Committee in Senayan, Jakarta, on Tuesday, July 7, 2026.

This achievement was driven by tax revenues amounting to Rp1,187.8 trillion, which grew by 21.4 percent compared to the first half of 2025. Meanwhile, non-tax state revenue (PNBP) reached Rp271.0 trillion, or 59 percent of the APBN target, reflecting a 21.6 percent growth.

Purbaya explained that looking at tax revenues alone, growth reached 24.6 percent compared to last year. "This is a promising development, considering the 7 percent contraction in the first six months of last year," the state treasurer said.

According to him, tax and organizational reforms have yielded promising results, making him confident that tax revenue performance will continue to improve.

Overall revenue performance, he added, was also bolstered by expanded economic access, stronger tax and customs oversight and governance, alongside improved services from ministries, state institutions, and public service agencies.

In addition to reporting on state revenue realization, Purbaya noted that expenditure realization in the first semester reached Rp1,656.0 trillion. This represents 43.1 percent of the budget ceiling and a 17.8 percent increase compared to the same period last year.

With these realization figures, the budget deficit as of June 2026 stood at Rp196.5 trillion, amounting to 0.76 percent of the Gross Domestic Product. "This condition reflects that the state budget deficit remains within safe and controlled limits," Purbaya said.
