Six Airlines Seek to Operate Flights at Bandung's Husein Sastranegara Airport

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Corporate Secretary Group Head of InJourney Airports, Arie Ahsanurrohim, stated that six airlines have officially applied to operate at Husein Sastranegara Airport in Bandung, West Java, Indonesia. "With domestic and international routes," said Arie in a written statement on Tuesday, July 28, 2026.

Arie mentioned that the six airlines applied to operate within the optimization program of Husein Sastranegara Airport after InJourney Airports presented its operational and service plans at the airport.

Here are six airlines that have expressed interest in operating at Husein Sastranegara Airport along with the routes to and from Bandung:

1. Citilink: Kualanamu, Denpasar, Surabaya

2. Super Air Jet: Kualanamu, Denpasar, Pekanbaru, Makassar, Batam, Padang, Balikpapan, Pontianak

3. Garuda Indonesia: Denpasar

4. Transnusa: Kuala Lumpur, Johor Bahru, Lampung

5. Scoot: Singapore

6. Wings Air: Lampung, Palembang

Furthermore, Arie stated that InJourney Airports will arrange and ensure the availability of flight slots (take-off and landing times) at the airport to accommodate flight demands according to the airport's capacity.

"We hope that the flight connectivity of Husein Sastranegara Airport can fully support the growth of the economy and tourism in West Java and especially in the city of Bandung," said Arie.

PT Angkasa Pura Indonesia (Persero) or InJourney Airports ensures that the preparations for optimizing Husein Sastranegara Airport in Bandung are running smoothly according to schedule, to resume serving jet flights in the near future. "Coordination is continuously carried out with all stakeholders," said Arie.

Regarding operational preparation, Arie added that InJourney Airports follows all aspects set by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation of the Ministry of Transportation. As for safety, the management has provided various needs, such as Foam Tender emergency response vehicles, fulfillment of facilities supporting aircraft accident rescue and fire fighting (PKP-PK) Category 7.

Security aspects include an upgrade of the Screening Check Point (SCP) facilities, including x-ray machines, walkthrough metal detectors (WMTD), and handheld metal detectors (HHTD). "Meanwhile, in the air aspect, work is being done to increase the capacity of the runway, taxiway, and apron. Preparations are also being made regarding flight connectivity at Husein Sastranegara Airport," said Arie.
